Created by the confluence of incoming waves on the prominent points that lie on either side, Birch Bay is a sweeping half moon shaped body of water that offers beauty and recreation year round. On the north is Birch Point, and on the south is Point Whitehorn. As waves enter the bay, they bend and lose energy as they come ashore.

That results in a sloping gentle beach that has been modified over the years by the additional of groins and riprap. The picturesque Terrell Creek runs parallel to a portion of the beach eventually emptying into the bay.

Because it is shallow the water warms naturally by the sun. The people you find here are just as warm hearted and welcoming. Some guests come for weekend getaways and others for extended vacations.

The pace is slow but there are many fun activities such as claming, sand sculptures, kits, wake boarding, windsurfing, jet skiing or just stretching out under the warm summer sun.
